SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Production Manager, performs set-ups, and operates CNC or manual machines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for executing production plan according to manufacturing schedule and work instructions.
- Responsible for controlling the Quality of products according to Inspection Plan and maintaining all quality records.
- Responsible for controlling the inspection of tools according to compliant protocols
- Maintains and performs daily preventive machine maintenance and supplies all machine-related needs.
- Able to read and understand customer prints & mfg drawings in English. Able to work unsupervised at times.
- Responsible for the completion of all other related or unrelated assigned tasks or duties from management.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve minor to semi-complex problems and issues. Able to conduct minor root cause analysis.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Machinist certificate a plus but not required.
- Five or more years’ experience on CNC or Manual Machines in a Job Shop environment.
- Two years’ experience reading, proving & debugging G-Code programs.
- Level I Machinists must own their own comprehensive selection of tools and toolboxes.
- Experience with measuring tools and adequate knowledge of ANSI Y14.5
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Level I Machinists must possess good communication skills which include but are not limited to the following – The ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints and customer specifications. Also, must be able to effectively complete first-piece and in-process inspection paperwork. Level I machinists must possess the ability to effectively present information to top management, supervisors, peers, and subordinate-level employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Level I Machinists must possess the ability to comprehend and apply principles of modern algebra and trigonometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Level I Machinists must possess strong mechanical and machining knowledge, as well as the ability to understand the impact of their actions on all product realization processes.
